[Dailydrool] Possible early Canine dementia?

For two nights now, Gallagher, age 9 years and 10 months, has been acting very strangely. When he comes back from his evening walk, he doesn’t want to come in. When he is finally coerced into the house, he rings his “bell” to go back outside. He goes back out and then walks away from the house, like he’s re-doing his walk, but without a leash. We bring him back in and he repeats the bell ringing. Take him out on a leash and he wants to go for long walk, not potty. His walks are actually long and he used to just want his supper and bed. We thought it was strange that he decided that Guinness was his best friend. (He always just tolerated him.).
We’ve had another dog with canine dementia, but he was almost 15. He didn’t know day from night and that’s what seems to be happening to Gallagher. It’s almost like sundown syndrome.
