[Dailydrool] RULE NUMBER ONE

If you are uncomfortable with your Veterinarian start shopping but in the
meantime request a one-to-one no dog interview and explain your discomfort.

If the Vet is absolutely unmoving (and the more corporate-owned Hospitals
there are the more common this is) then start looking because TRUST ME it
will only get worse..

Corporate owned Hospitals have POLICIES. This covers everything from
preventing you from being with your dog while procedures are done to
requiring that certain brands of vaccines and medications are dispensed to
demanding that your dog be present 24 hrs before surgery. The over-riding
belief is that the client is too stupid to be trusted: that the client is
not capable of learning which drug companies charge the most or have the
most efficacious drugs, to a rule that ALL dog be muzzled for any treatment
and usually it goes under the guise that "Our insurance requires it."
I am currently dealing with exactly this and it is going to be a matter of
a short time before I abandon my beloved Vets and move on to an independent.
