[Dailydrool] Puppy antics?

Clara is not a puppy. At 14 years she is old. She is in kidney failure and has a heart murmur. Every time we have seen the vet since Christmas I have been told to prepare myself to "make the decision any day".
Clara does not care. She calls vets Quacks, shakes her petite body, raises her pretty tail and carries on.
While I was away for five days for my daughter's wedding (which went very well and was beautiful) Rolph and Clara stayed with my good friends and basset slaves Sue and Terry. The first text came asking "Does Rolph sulk?"
Why yes, Rolph could put "professional sulker" on his CV. Why?
"He won't come in from the garden and is behaving like a sulky toddler."
Next text: "Could Clara possibly have got to the back of the kitchen counter?"
"Why yes, her counter-surfing skills have really improved recently. Why?"
"No matter, I've got something else in the freezer."
Following text: "Is Clara related to Houdini or something?"
"Erm, not that I know of. Why?"
"She keeps getting into the kitchen, even though we keep the doors and gates shut."
And finally: "Clara has just got into the kitchen again. She opened the dog food box, grabbed a bag of kibble and went charging off down the garden with it!"
"Did she eat it?"
"No. I grabbed it back from her. She's like a blooming rocket she ran so fast!"
"Is Rolph still sulking in the garden?"
"Only during the day."
"See you tomorrow then...."

Sally, now reunited with Rolph and Clara and who has already found Clara on the dining table with the remains of a vase around her feet....
