[Dailydrool] Dog petitions and Dex's infection

The hounds are certain that Dexter is my favorite, maybe because I tell
them so or maybe because I am always defending him in the face of Cleo's
attacks (she does not like the fact that he's blind). Please don't tell
them that they are all my favorites in different ways (I've told them that
too, but it does not seem to have clicked, and when they think Dex is the
favorite, I figure they are less likely to give him trouble).

When the Dashing Bassets have a really serious petition or one they are
afraid I will say no to, they send in the big guns--Dexter. If it's a quick
pee, and they think I won't mind, Horton and Cleo usually combine efforts
and jump up on the side of the bed to let me know. But anything really
important gets a Dexter request. After all, Mom never turns him down.

I posted this nrxy comment to FB, but I'd also like to let the nonFB
Droolers know that it looks as if the amoxicillin Dex was on has helped
what the vets now think is a kidney infection. We will be continuing with
the antibiotics for another month or so to be sure it is cleared up, at
which time I hope things will be at an end. His last pee test came back
with perfect numbers, so I am very hopeful.
