[Dailydrool] An outrage!

Mariah here.  I wish to report an outrage. My mother returned from her volunteer day with the no-kill dog rescue with a dog in tow!!! She had promised my dad, no more foster dogs after Ipo was a foster failure (due to no one wanting Ipo).  And here she came today with a basset mix!  Mom said, “Well, I have to—it had noplace to go and I do coordinate what passes for basset rescue here—the email grapevine network.”  Dad was not pleased.  I was more than displeased—I was rabid, even though they did the outside everyone off leashes routine, etc. etc.   I am super alpha here and I say, “ this household is full. “   So I’ve tried to  attack this foster three times so far with the assistance of my sidekick, Ipo, who joins in if I tell her to.  No blood shed because of human intervention, and, Boy have I gotten in trouble quickly.  Eesh. The foster has been here two hours now and we have an uneasy peace but Mom is watching us like a hawk.  Fortunately the foster is in no way challenging.  she is beta and well mannered and deferential.  But I want her out of here!!!  Mom has sent out a “basset alert” to all the folks on her list looking for bassets.  fingers crossed.

Mom:  This foster is a great dog.  looks like a black tricolor basset with and oversized head and standup pointy ears.  A basset-pitbull mix, 2 years old, housetrained, good with other dogs, loves affection, formerly owned by a dog trainer who had too many dogs and took a full time job and is relinquishing Xena for a better home where she won’t be cooped up all day.  Adorable.  Write me for photos.  anyone interested?  it’s a lot easier to ship dogs off Hawaii (no quarantine) than it is to get them here.  i love her.  Val  vlbzwick at yahoo.com
