[Dailydrool] Truly useful "commands"

I was thinking today how helpful it is to Run a Tight Ship and have a
Collection of Useful Commands for one's basset. And other dogs for that
matter.

We have two at our house that are especially useful. "Up pup!" is used to
encourage the somewhat shy Formosan Mountain Dog to jump up on the couch.

"Whole Dog, All The Way" was at first introduced to persuade the late
lamented Vernon Q Basset that having your head in the rain did not in
itself constitute going outside to relieve oneself. It had to be "Whole
dog, all the way" out to count. (I think I learned this command from
someone on the Drool.)

This command has now been updated, so "Whole dog, all the way" means that
you must actually LEAVE the front deck to perform any bodily function of
note. Even if it's dark. And raining. And no, it is NOT called a poop deck
even though we have a sailboat!!

So -- Up Pup and Whole Dog All The Way are my most useful commands. What
about at your house?

Mary, and the beleaguered, bossed about crew.
