Dear Droolers,

My sweet, shy lumpy, bumpy girl, Miss Delilah Belle is nearly 14 years
old. Over the years she's had many lumps and bumps removed, mostly
sebaceous cysts but also one low-grade mast cell tumor. Over the last
eight weeks, a bump has appeared on her left hindquarter. Being jobless
for a couple of months meant putting off heading to the vetspital as quick
as I wanted but after a friend and colleague referred me to her vet, a dear
soul who actually would work for free if he could secondary to his love and
devotion to animals, and someone who was willing to work with me on a
payment plan, we discussed the fact that this nasty lump HAD to come off.
He also wanted to remove a large lipoma she's had for awhile on her right
shoulder at the same time. He said as long as her lab work was okay, he
would okay her for surgery. According to him, her blood work was "better
than his" so she is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday. I take her in at 9
am. I am well aware of the risks of seniors going under anesthesia,
however, the hindquarter lump is adversely affecting her mobility so there
is really no choice.

We would *really* appreciate any and all "no issues during surgery" drool
and lots of healing drool afterward, especially that the rear mass is not
malignant, or if it is that there are clear margins. I have been owned by
this sweet old girl since we got her as an owner surrender when she was
barely a year and a half old as a companion for Daisy Belle, our first
Basset, a wild-child. She is the last of our four hounds left and I love
her more than I can say. She has been a wonderful companion and comfort
during the loss of my beloved granddaughter, followed six months later by
the Dadslave. I know she won't be with me forever but if you can spare
some prayers and good thoughts along with the drool we would be ever so
grateful.

Hugs and snooters,
Sandi and Miss Delilah Belle of NJ
