The other day my husband casually said, “You know, if we had to have only one dog, I think I would want it to be Ipo (our notabasset hunting dog pit mix).  She seems like a “dog”.  The bassets have such outsized personalities, they don’t really seem much like dogs—more like cartoon characters!  The Simpsons.  Mila is Homer and Mariah is Bart”.

I had to laugh.  Somehow, he’s right.  That’s part of what I love about bassets.  And now a secret that you have all guessed by now—Mariah, the incorrigible, is my favorite.
