I absolutely agree with Bev...always check first with your vet before giving any OTC meds. That said, when Magnolia was having nosebleeds and sneezing like crazy one year (our house looked like a crime scene!), the vet told me that the pollen and mold in the air were at really high levels and did I have Zyrtec at home? When I told him I did, he advised me to give her Zyrtec every 12 hours.
