Oh, I am so very sorry, and send the deepest possible condolences to Sally,
and to Clara, and to all who loved Rolph.

And that includes me. This is the toughest part of being part of such a
large community of bassets and their hapless people... I grieve for every
one. Rolph somehow always reminded me of our Vernon Q Basset, so if
anything I grieve for him the more.

The Bridge is sure not going to be a quiet place, is it? But it's awfully
quiet here when a dear one departs.
