Hello, this is Chomper,
Did I do it right?  Is this the drool??  Hello?  Hello??  Can you hear me???  I saw a message this morning about a little girl basset and I think she was on something.  Merta Lou are you high?  Because I think you're high.  Also I have seen pictures of you and you are very cute.  
Snoopy can play!!!  You heard me right.  You heard it here first folks, old, lame 13 1/2 year old crippled bassets can run and play.  we started off with human facilitated parallel play, you know, the human throws 2 toys and each basset brings one back.  Then we moved to independent basset play, you know, grunting at each other.  We rub our snooters on each other and grunt, sometimes we bump snooters and grunt (not quite alligator mouth yet but thats coming).  We go for walks together.  And then, yesterday, we did the basset 500 together.  Now Snoopy is old and Snoopy is crippled and Snoopy can only walk or bunny hop ....... so he bunny hopped up and down the hall while I ran at top speed ..... and when Snoopy was all out of bunny hops he stood in the doorway to the living room and when I came down the hall we would bump snooters (high 5) and I'd keep going down to the kitchen and then we'd bump snooters on the way back and I go down the hall and when I come back Snoopy either bumps snooters or takes off bunny hopping with me again.
It's fabulous.  I love my brother Snoopy I cuddle him and play with him and hug him and he loves me too and he shares all his toys and his space and is always in the same room on the same piece of furniture.  Today we found out I eat better if I can be in the kitchen with him while he eats.  momPerson has never allowed Snoopy to be in the room with another dog when he had his bowl but today she tried.  I sniffed his bowl by mistake but he didn't say a word.  Then he ate his while I ate mine but I am slow so he got done first and then he just patiently waited while I got done.  I've accidentally taken his treat before too ...... he didn't say a word momPerson just got him a new one.  He is supposed to be something called "food aggressive" ..... I'm not a foodie so I don't know what that is, but he isn't aggressive with me.  He loves me.
