Congratulations, Marty, and welcome home, Sunny! Sunny must be adorable. I'd love to see a picture. We have a Basset/Australian Cattle Dog mix and it's been fascinating to see which traits come to the fore. It seems they often get the Basset body with the head and coloring of the other mix. Anyway, I'm so glad you found each other :-)
