Hello Drool Family. I don’t get to post much anymore as farm life and overseeing both of my parents medical care keeps me hopping. I do most of my DD reading while waiting for doctors. My mom has moderate level dementia, my dad is her primary caregiver but I am trying to help out as much as possible. My Dad has also been in the hospital twice in 3 months. Some weeks I feel like I am going to run myself to death. Thank God for my husband who has been amazing during all of this. Anyhowl, Seth and Xander are doing great. They love their walks around the farm when my schedule and the weather cooperates. Seth likes to play the banjo...yes you read that correctly. My husband has a banjo sitting in the living room on a stand, Seth will go over and bark at it, making it vibrate which makes “music”. It is so funny. Xander and Seth still basset 500 around the living room, play pass the antler (even if there are 2 available), and sometimes play tug o’war. Xander likes to sing (howl) his “Momma’s doing her feeding chore blues”. He howls his little song almost every morning when I go out to the barn to care for the cats, cows and to the coop to care for the chickens. Seth is the silliest basset I think I have ever had. I swear he must have been a cat in his previous life as he likes to rub/drag his body in between your legs and the couch. He does the same thing to ring the sleigh bells on the door to go outside. Rubbing his body against them to make them ring! He also likes his butt massaged and then will arch his back lifting up his butt like a cat does. What a goof ball. Xander on the other hand is pretty mellow, he only gets excited when it is feeding time, time to go for a walk or when I return home. He doesn’t like it when I leave the farm, watching and whining at the big picture window for my return.
To all of those that have sick humans or hounds, the boys are slinging healing drool your way. And to those that have lost a beloved Hound, they send heart healing drool.
