Such great name stories! I'm afraid that most of ours didn't have any real
significance, I just liked them! Such was the case with Abigail (Lady
Abigail of Glenfiddich...my husband's favorite Scotch whisky). Then came
Magnolia, whose grandmother's name was Maggie, and I just fancied it up a
little. I think Oliver was named Spencer by the rescue, but he wasn't
attached to it...so I called him Oliver. It just seemed to fit him better.
My only somewhat creative name was GracieLou FlatBasset. GracieLou was
named Ali by the rescue but, again, hadn't had the name for long when we
adopted her. At the time, my boss's wife's name was Allison...but she went
by Ali...so that wasn't going to work! I loved the name Grace and the movie
"Miss Congeniality" had been a favorite in our house. Sandra Bullock's
beauty queen character was named Gracie Lou Freebush. So, I modified it a
little bit and the rest is history!
