[Dailydrool] Massive Scare for Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, I let the dogs out and got my breakfast and caffeine and
was working on the computer. About 20 minutes after I let them out, It
occurred to me that Beauford hadn't come in yet. He usually isn't out there
more than about 5-10 minutes. Bugsey can wander for 30-40 minutes if the
weather is to his liking. Browyn is usually inbetween. I looked out the
window. Nothing. I went to the door and called them and looked around the
yard. Nothing. Then I notice a board down in the fence! OH NO! I ran to the
missing board and saw part of Bugsey pass by. So I called him and he came
running like a good boy. I can't see the other two in the backyard
neighbor's small, fenced yard. I also don't see an obvious way the other
two got out. It doesn't matter. I have two dogs on the lose. I brought
Bugsey inside and yelled at the DH to get clothes on and search for
Beauford and Browyn. He said he would take the golf cart (we live in a golf
cart community with over 100 miles of golf cart paths). He told me to post
of the City page and the Lost Dog County page. So, I did. Well, I couldn't
do the city page because it got shut down for a week because some people
can't behave and be nice to each other. Anyway, I got it posted on the Lost
Dog page. I grabbed Bugsey and we got in the car. As I was starting to pull
out of the cul-de-sac, DH called and said he had Beauford and Browyn and he
was going to try to get them on the golf cart. I said NO! Just wait for me
to get there. They were in the front yard of the house they had escaped
from the backyard. I didn't want him to try to take two dogs that were not
trained to sit on a golf cart on a golf cart. The is a nightmare waiting to
happen! We get there and...Beauford and Browyn were very wet and covered in
mud!!! We had gotten 3 inches of rain in the past three days. So, I had to
put them in the car. No. I have no clue why the DH didn't tell me to bring
towels. He did say he was glad I insisted on coming to get them because he
tried to get the dogs to just sit on the golf cart to wait and Beauford was
not having it at all! We got home and I dried off Beauford and Browyn and
got most of the mud off of them. I fed them and put them down for their
morning nap. As I was changing the status on the Facebook page from lost to
found, the vet texted me. Had I found the dogs yet? Were they okay and was
I okay? Was there anything he could do to help? I could have hugged him!
Meanwhile, DH was already outside in the now pouring rain fixing the fence.
I can't believe how incredibly sweet he is! I told this to my mother on
Monday and she said of course he was worried. If Beauford and Browyn were
killed he would have lost an incredible amount of income. I feel really
sorry for her. It must be so sad going through life being so negative.

thankfully alive and unscathed!)
