[Dailydrool] Vetting Vets

I want a Veterinarian who is confident enough in his own abilities to
listen to me when I have information about my dog and to take it into
consideration but who is smart enough to know his own limitations.
I want a Vet who hasn't got a problem referring me elsewhere when he is out
of his depth or spinning his wheels.
I want a Vet who has an open mind when it comes to new treatments or
alternative methods.
I want a Vet who does not pass judgement on me for what I may do or not do
with my dog, but respects my decisions. (And that may be the hardest thing
to do of all of these.)
And I want to be smart enough to always remember that my Veterinarian is
human and does the best he can but that sometimes, that is not going to be
enough.
