I think about 8 x 4 feet with 18 inch high walls and a door.  It had linoleum at the base, then off-cut of carpet(changed twice a week and hosed off) then towel covered crate pads.  We harnessed him up and took him out 3 to 5 times a day and in summer took him to the lawn.  We killed two washing machines and one dryer.  But the poop was contained and not usually on him.  He was a contented hound either asleep or with me for company.   He is gone over a year and I well remember the joy of coming home to no stench and maybe a nice firm poop that could  be removed easily!
