[Dailydrool] Cowboy updates

Haven't been posting much for the past year or two since the human child,
Frankie, arrived. We read often and try to chime in when we have something
relevant to contribute.

We still have Cowboy and he is doing well, going on 13 in August. For about
4 years he has had a cyst on his lower back, which never bothered him. In
January it burst and we've been dealing with it ever since. 3 rounds of
antibiotics, lots of hot compresses and more follow up appointments than I
can count. He still seems unbothered, but the damn thing just keeps filling
up and then draining so its frustrating to say the least. If it would just
empty and heal, or fill and heal, we'd be fine. But the never ending open
wound is annoying and the vet doesn't think surgery is a good option if we
can just medically manage the wound.

Other than that he's happy and healthy, with arthritis in his back that
we've been treating successfully with CBD oil for about 5 years now.

He and Frankie have developed quite an adorable friendship, and Frankie
just loves feeding Cowboy treats, which obviously Cowboy is a fan of. For
his entire life, Cowboy was a meat and cheese guy, refusing processed foods
or sweets. But suddenly since Frankie came around, Cowboy has developed
quite a sweet tooth, and now he demands waffles and cookies like he has 13
years to make up for. Frankie thinks it's hilarious and offers Cowboy a
bite of everything he has to offer, and is never mad when an entire cookie
is swiped from his hand.

So that's all we've been up to. Our cat passed away last month and we tried
to adopt a local 4 year old basset hound, but it fell through so it's just
3 humans and a hound for now.
