[Dailydrool] Question about dog shows

So, I’ve been following Westminster in bits and pieces, and this brings a recurring question: what is up with the dress code? The women handlers look pretty uncomfortable in their skirts and flat shoes; the men get a pass, sort of. Does this go way back? Is it true for all dog shows, or just the big ones. Have any of the women handlers “broken” the apparent dress code, and if so, what happened?

All the dogs, of course, look fabulous in their birthday suits.
