[Dailydrool] Kidney Stone

We just learned that our Nellie, age 6, has a small kidney stone in her
left kidney.  The big problem is that her right kidney is completely
calcified and we know it is not working.  Her kidney values are normal but
she has frequent UTI's and this is most likely the reason.

Our vet is going to refer us to a urology specialist and wants to have an
ultrasound performed soon.  She had one about a year ago and that is how we
found out about the non-working kidney.

She is otherwise healthy, an excellent eater and the sweetest girl.  We
rescued her two years ago from Carolina Basset Rescue and we have to assume
the ugly folks who tossed her out along with her sisters, ignored any
bladder problems.

Anyone have experience with removal of a kidney stone or a dog with a
non-working kidney?
