[Dailydrool] A day too late

I’ve been there too Beverly. Ms Brandy-she was slowly failing throughout the day. I knew it was her time. She hated going to the vet like no other animal I have ever seen. I didn’t want the last thing that she knew to be a visit to the vet. It was a very long night. I regret it to this day. A few minutes at the vet would’ve saved us both many hours of anguish. After sitting with her for 15 hours she passed while I was out of the room for a few minutes. On her own terms, like she did everything else.
I would sooner err on the side of caution than ever go a day too long again.
As Val mentioned, humans have to suffer. Unless they go to another country like her friend did . We can give our pets the gift of a pain-free end. If you’ve never been with your pet when it is time to say goodbye, it is generally a very peaceful thing. They get a shot of medicine that puts them to sleep much like you would get before surgery. They just fall asleep. After that they receive medication that will stop their heart. They don’t know any of this is going on.

(((hugs))) to you Bev- I’m certain he’d forgive you. You were doing what you thought was the right thing.
