[Dailydrool] Waiting

Mariah here. Well, it’s been a week, and although Mom filled out a gazillion on-line forms at the direction of the live person on the telephone and talked to the dog school in person as well (who  directed her to the on-line forms- which assured prompt response) and consulted the local dog guru with the dog rescue,Mom works with (who referred her to the dog school).—well, nothing has happened. this is pretty typical where we live—nothing happens. Lol.
We live in a peculiar state (Hawaii).  it is very beautiful here and also very slow paced. Island time. kind of like caricatures of some Caribbean nations. It is not unusual for laws to be passed, then debated after the fact, and subsequently repealed.  Happens all the time. the two step—one step forward, one step backward, end up in the same place. Lol. Where mom used to live on Oahu, residents complained of traffic noise on a particular road, so the legislature had rumble strips installed on the road to slow down the traffic. But then the residents complained that the rumble strips,caused,too much noise in and of themselves so the rumble strips were all torn out and the roads were restored to their original noisy state.  Project took years. keeps unemployment low. kind of like Odysseus’ wife and her tapestry.
but I digress. anyway, I am not in reform school yet. status quo has returned due to the difficulty of getting things done where I live.  Mom continues to try to sign us up for lessons, but hey, In the meantime, she has created a double gating system (kind of like an airlock) where people entering our yard must negotiate two gates rather than just one. (it is harder to forget 2 than 1).  I have been unable to escape.  I am still Queen Alpha Don’t Come Near My Yard  If You Are a Dog, but there seems to be a temporary cease fire on the Hawaiian front.  there is of course the possibility the Dog School will call sometime in the next year if Mom keeps after them, but hey, SO FAR SO GOOD.
