This has been such a rough year for me I have been a member of the daily drool for many years but almost never submit a request for help but I am so sad right now I don’t know where to turn. My husband fell and broke his hip so since his surgery I have been taking care of everything by myself. About two months ago my rescue cat Annie died in my arms, followed by having to send my basset Oakley to the bridge after a long drawn out illness that left him paralyzed for over a year. An hour later my basset Goose looked funny and I knew right away he had glaucoma so back to the vet. So far he is stable taking 5 eye drops a day but I know eventually he will go blind. In the meantime my 23 year old granddaughter was diagnosed with MS About a month ago I noticed my basset mix rescue Arnie had a cough so back to the vets where he was diagnosed with cancer He has an enlarged kidney, mass in his liver, spots on his lungs and now swollen glands He is on prednisone to keep him comfortable but I was wondering if anyone had tried any holistic treatments that helped extend a dogs quality of life. Arnie is so terrified of the vets I am hoping he goes to the rainbow bridge on his own here at home. My heart is broken and I am so depressed I have been on anxiety meds since I shattered my spine 3 years ago but nothing helps I just want to keep Arnie comfortable He is hanging in, eating well and pooping and peeing normally and does not appear to be in pain. Sorry this is so long but I have nowhere or no one to turn too Any ideas would be appreciated
