[Dailydrool] Failed addition to the family

I came from NH to visit my daughter. Part of the visit was to meet a potential new hound in rescue.  She is a Basset mix.  I have met many dogs and know the drill.  The foster mom suggested giving her a treat.  We’ll she took the treat and went into attack mode.  My left hand is torn and bruised.  Got it cleaned up, steri-stripped (they could not do stitches) and braced.  I was so worried about what would happen the dog, that I did not want to give her information (but did).  Needless to say, she is not a match for us and will be in quarantine per county regulations.  I feel just terrible and worry for her future.  It really makes me wonder what kind of life she had.  Her foster mom is wonderful.  I feel so sad about this.
