[Dailydrool] Barney and nighttime outings

Sounds like you are doing very well with Barney and that your nighttime troubles just need some re-training. What happens if you don’t let him out during the night? Does he just keep bothering you to go out or will he mess in the house?
Start with taking him out to go potty just before you retire for the night. At my house I just announce for everyone to get up and go pee  Sometimes I have to push and shove a little if they’ve already settled in but they all get up and go outside and potty.
It is rare that I am woken up to let one of them outside. If they do, I let them out. In our case I know they have to go. In your case it’s become a habit for him to go out.
I would work on stretching the time out in between letting him out during the night. Simply telling him no and try going back to sleep.
I also don’t socialize if they wake me up during the night to go out. No happy chatting, no treats. Just business.
Lots of patience and just a few more long nights will hopefully get you there.
