Gallagher will be 14 on Friday.  He has a worsening heart murmur and congestive heart failure plus lots of icky bumps.  He is thinner than ever and his spine is much more visible.  He does still eat, goes out to potty and enjoys naps on the porch.  He gets pain meds when he shows signs of pain.  He still loves getting his scratchies and rubs.  He seems content.  Mulligan is about 12. We will celebrate her 11th gotcha day in September.  She has Cushings and Diabetes Insipidus.  Our vet is wonderful snd quickly refills any meds for two!  Our new rescue is a “not a Basset”.  She is 6 months old.  The Bassets are “tolerating” her well.
