[Dailydrool] Coughing

My poor Lucy is plagued with allergic rhinitis, and this summer is
especially difficult with all the rain we've had here in the Great
Northeast. Now it's ragweed season. She wakes up at night coughing
and coughing and I feel so bad for her.

Has anyone had any luck symptomatically treating coughing in a dog?
My vet has prescribed Temaril-P for her for a couple of weeks, but it
hasn't had much impact on her coughing. Her sneezing has improved a
little, but I'm not sure if that's the meds or the fact that it's
finally stopped raining every day. I've heard that you can give
Robitussin to dogs, and I've tried it a few times. However, Lucy is
not too keen on it, and I'm not sure how much actually gets down her
throat. Has anyone actually been able to administer this
effectively? I've even used a baby's medicine dropper.

We got Lucy from ABC Basset Rescue almost three years ago, allergies
and all. She had been tested inside out and upside down. She's on
allergy shots every three weeks.

Linda, Little Lucy (someone actually referred to me as a boogersnot!)
and Big Bubba.
