Utah Friends of Basset hounds has a rescue basset who is just a year old, with a partially torn ACL. Toby saw a specialist yesterday. Apparently there are 2 different types of surgery. Has anyone had experience with this? It's his back left leg. There's a difference in price too, but we're not as concerned with that as we are with the outcome and recovery time. Toby can be very active and as I understand it he will have to be kept quiet for about 10 weeks.....no stairs.....limited walks on leash......is there any type of therapy that anyone feels would be beneficial......He's so young, we'd really like for this to be a long term fix. He also has arthritis and some muscle atrophy already going on. Toby is in a foster home
with lots of other dogs, including quite a few young males that he loves to play with. Do you just crate
him and sedate him? We wish we had more foster homes and a lot more money right now. Here is Toby's Dogster link, if you want to see him.

Email me off list, if you want. Thanks.
