Drool and prayers are flowing for Spanky. We hope he is permanently better real soon.

Years ago, one of my cats escaped. When I found her in the morning and grabbed her, she bit me. It ended up getting infected, and I ended up at the doctor's.

When I told my vet about it, he told me that when they got bitten, they immediately soaked the wound in Betadine (there are two kinds of it, one that's just topical and the other that you soak in, it should be the soak-in kind. I have used the regular Betadine on minor wounds and have had good results. The other day Abner nicked me with a tooth when he grabbed a treat. Inside of a day, the nick was healed.

Of course you need to watch dog bites carefully. If it becomes infected, a doctor's visit is required. And puncture wounds are more likely to become infected. I suspect Anthony should go to the doctor, perhaps before infection appears.

I'm also hoping your state will not kill a dog for one event like that.
