[Dailydrool] Sound like a UTI?

Hello Everyone!
Brenda here - Daisy Mae and Emmy Lou's Mom. I have been trying to catch
up on my Drools all week. I was on vacation last week, and very busy at
work catching up this week. We are so sorry to hear of all the sick
houndies and so many leaving for the bridge in the last couple of weeks.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I have cried with
many of you reading your posts.

I do have one other reason for posting today. Daisy has been getting a
little grumbly for about a week. Tuesday night, I noticed she had a
little discharge coming from her vagina after she peed (she has been
spayed). I wiped it and there was no blood and she was her
rambunctious self, so I didn't think much more about it. However, like
I said she has been kinda grouchy, especially toward Emmy if she laid
on her wrong when they were cuddling. She is eating and drinking and
playing as normal, but last night around 11PM I was giving her a good
night belly rub, and she growled and kinda snapped at me when I got to
far down on her belly a few inches above her vagina. Usually belly
rubs are her favorite, so I kinda pressed where her bladder is and she
growled again like it hurt. This morning, she acted fine again, but I
did not rub her belly. She ate her breakfast and went out to pee
before and after as normal.
I can't get her in to her vet until tomorrow morning at 8:30. There is
no way for me to get away from work today, and Tony works out of town,
so tomorrow morning is the fastest we can get her there. Clinic said
they were booked today anyway. From what I read, and talking to her
vet on the phone, they think it is a UTI and will do the tests tomorrow
and probably start her on antibiotics right away.
Does anyone have any other thoughts or questions I should bring up
tomorrow? My dalmatian had bladder stones when he was 2 had surgery to
flush his bladder and was on allopurinol and science diet A/D for the
rest of his life. He was 10 when he went to the bridge after a rapid
bout with brain cancer. I hope nothing serious like that is the case
with Daisy. She can still go pee, it just seems to take her a little
longer to get started. She has always had stress peeing. Like when I
pick her up to put her in the bath or on the grooming table and when
she is in trouble, there will be a little puddle or trail of pee if she
is running from me.

Drool to all in need,
Brenda - Mom to Daisy Mae and Emmy Lou
