A good dog likes to go for rides in the car, sits with you on the couch and shares your food as you watch t.v., keeps your feet warm while you are working on the computer, poses for pictures that you can endlessly torment your friends with, and warms the bed up for you so that it is not cold when you get in.

A great dog is housebroken, doesn't bite the Comcast cable guy, and while she may munch on the Christmas tree refrains from eating the gifts.
