[Dailydrool] head tremors

there had been a question about head tremors recently, and i decided to 
post to the whole list because i saw  my vet today.....he said it is 
common in bassets and beagles and is a genetic thing affecting the inner 
ear and their equilibrium.......the reason the dog is alert, follows 
commands etc. is because it is not affecting the brain, but the 
ear......he also said there is a surgery, but the one time he did it the 
dog got worse, and so he recommends doing nothing and not worrying about 
it.......on the other hand, Einstein gained 7 lbs. since his last visit, 
and was told to go on a diet.......no more merrick's everyday with his 
kibble, just some low fat yogurt, pumpkin or low fat cottage 
cheese....he likes all three......i think he eats too many cookies from 
daddy, so the alert is out to cut back.....Einstein says he is in good 
company with Oprah!!.....i love my big fat baby  but i will comply with 
the vet's instruction......nancy, hershey and einstein
