We bought a hammock-style car seat cover last year from Duluth  
Trading Company. It has adjustable loops that hook around the  
headrests of both the back and front seats and does a nice job of  
covering the length of our Toyota Corolla. It really does work at  
keeping our Elsinore from riding with her front half on the console  
between the front seats. Of course, Elsinore also wears a harness  
that's tethered to a backseat seat belt, so that probably helps. The  
cover has slits so you can pull the human seat belts up through it,  
which is a feature I really like. I haven't had to wash it yet, so I  
don't know how it does in a washer and dryer.
