Geez, I feel bad cause I never replied personally to all the droolers
that wrote me when my Maisie went to the bridge. To you guys, thanks,
it really does help......I just don't know what else to say. Two days
after Maisie left me, my new dog, Dingo, the Amish blue heeler
runaway, was hit by a car and killed instantly. He showed up a few
weeks ago, obviously abused, but was the sweetest pup, probably only
7-8 months old. I took him home and he fit right in with Maisie,
Clancy and Elvis. But then he chased an Amish buggy and was gone for
a week. Then my Dad-in-Law called me and said, "there's a dingo dog
here looking for you" I was so happy...I didn't think he'd ever come
back. So we went to the vet for shots and neutering......and then I
guess he was needed at the bridge. My Heart dog, Clancy the black
lab, was pushing 13, and was having a really bad time. He had elbow
displaysia, and I'm pretty sure his hips were starting to go. He was
always a dog that didn't like it when you saw him "do his business",
but he was losing control and going in the house and you could tell he
was embarassed. He was having such a hard time walking, getting up
even, but I just wasn't ready. I think I put it off more for me than
him....but he looked at me that day and said he was ready, So, I sent
him to the bridge on July 3, 2008. I hope I did the right
thing....And I probably didn't write in about my Ziggy dog (peke) that
was diagnosed with Mouth Cancer in December, so she was the first one
to go to the Bridge. I'm sure she's been waiting there to greet all
her old friends that I had the pleasure to know during their time
here.....Gosh, I miss them.....anyway, I'm not writing this for
sympathy or anything, I just needed to get it out . My family and
friends just don't understand the way you guys do. On a happier
note, because of a drooler, I am going to pick up a new friend for
lonely Elvis in two weeks. Her name is Daisy and I'm sure she'll help
with the hurting. Thanks for letting me vent. Sorry this was so long.
It just feels weird having only one dog in the house...Poor Elvis, he
seems kind of lost (me too). I'm sure things will look up when pretty
Daisy arrives..I'll let you all know how things work out.
Thanks,
Jeanie & Elvis
