Hi Mandy,
 
                  I  don't believe there is such a thing as Basset proofing 
your house, My Evil  Annie, 9 months old, has eaten three window sills in the 
last two months, ate a  big hole in my couch, tore the molding  off the wall  
behind the  chair, ripped the skirting off the chair in my family room,  are 
you still  there MANDY ?????
chewed on rocks, ate the neighbors cat poop, eats ants, bugs, leaves and  
sticks , are you still there MANDY ???  the drooler  was right, you  have to have 
a sense of humor, get lots of kleenex because you will cry LOTS  !!!!! just 
enjoy, laugh, and roll with the ADVENTURE !!!!!!!!  get lots of  toys , they 
are for your entertainment, Bassets find other things that belong to  YOU to 
play with !! life as you once  new it , is now OVER !   have fun, everyone  on 
the drool will help you with your adventure !
CONGRADULATIONS on your new Basset baby !
