Dee, I was so sorry to ready your post.  I hope Mazzie continues to surprise everyone and has a lot of good time left.  Can I suggest that you consider accupuncture to try to help her?  I had good luck with that with my Lisa's arthritis, and I think it often helps when western medicine can't.
