   We too have three houndies, we have a central vacuum system, and guess 
what? It NEVER gets put away, because every one of the bassets is always 
shedding year round.  I like to stay on top of the vacuuming before the hair 
accumulates and turns into "ghost turds".  I bought a furminator a couple 
days ago, and it really does seem to take out all the loose hair from the 
furkids.  It was worth the $49.00 investment.
