Hey Drooolers!

Thanks for all of your advice regarding our new baby and our basset,
Barney. I never expected such a swift response from everyone! We're
going to take all the advice and anecdotes and use that to help
welcome our new member of our family. It seems like as long as we
treat both the baby AND Barney w/ respect and love, yet still remain
"pack leader" (as Cesar Milan would say), then I think everything
will be okay. We might have a couple of snags here and there, but
overall, I think that Barney will grow to love the new little one and
vice versa.

To Nadine: In answer to your questions, we did think about starting
our family before we got Barney. That's one of the main reasons why
we chose a basset -we knew that they were great family dogs. Our
friends have a 10 year old lovely lady that really sealed the deal
for us. I would also never think about getting rid of Barney just
because we were having a baby. I just wanted some advice on how to
make that transition from a family of 3 to a family of 4.

Thanks again everyone!
Lindsay, momma to Barney
