[Dailydrool] Smelly House

My theory is... your house will smell fresh if your dogs smell fresh.
 
I live in a 750sq. ft. 1-bedroom apartment (with wall-to-wall carpet) with two dogs and my boyfriend. I can take the hair and the drool but certainly not the smell. 
 
Having said that, Mona and Potato get bathed every 2 weeks.  I use Earthbath (anyone familiar with this brand? It's so good!) Oatmeal shampoo and lavender cologne. I swear... they smell so good! And their fur is so soft... I use baby-wipes for in-between baths and on their feet after walks. The generic brand works wonders on those popcorn feet. 
 
I also vacuum and change the couch cover every 3 days. Every now and then I would use the Arm n' Hammer Carpet Powder. It freshens up the carpet, and I try to steam-vac once every month.. or until the carpet is unbearably grimy. 
 
I Clorox wipes every surface. The kitchen counters, stove, bathroom, the dog crate.. everything! That seems to leave a lasting clean scent all over. 
 
And lastly, I VENTILATE the house. I leave our sliding glass door open to let fresh outside air in whenever possible. Beats any air freshener in the market... and it's free!
