Steve,
I'm so sorry about Wyatt.  As I write this, I've been pondering when my foster girl Bullet, with congestive heart failure, will be put down.  She's been in foster care for 9.5 months now, not all at my house. 
It's never easy to euthanize a beloved pet friend.
