People,
Please remember a heart murmur is only a symptom - you don't die of a heart
murmur. It could be a benign flow murmur, subaortic stenosis, cardiomyopathy
or valvular dysfunction to name a few. Hearing a hear murmur doesn't mean
anything, or give a prognosis in and of itself. It means the vet needs to do
more diagnostics - EKG, echocardiogram - to determine the CAUSE of the heart
murmur. Just like a limp could be a thorn in the paw, pano, a strain, a
fracture, or osteosarcoma - the limp is the symptom leading to the
diagnosis/prognosis for the actual problem.

All heart murmurs are not created equal.

Drool to all those in need! With the warmer weather I'm swimming in it.
