Bill here, press agent/personal trainer to Angela Basset, Droop and Drool Diva of Wichita and Sedgwick County

In response to BobtheDog's generous offer of a position of nurse and masseuse to himself, Miss Angela replies:

"Oh, Robert, you know that I am not a nurse, but that I am eager to play one on TV.
The offer you made, while attractive, is, I fear, just your libidinous old self rearing its ugly head. You are still a cabana boy at heart. I just can't be a pawn in some kind of frat boy competition between you and King George. I have much better things to do.

What better things, you ask? As of today, I offer my services at no salary (though I do expect my expenses to be covered) to the new First Puppy. Who better than I to teach the newest Obama the arts of being a fine dog. After all, it was I who conceived and taught Bassetude 101 right on the Drool. I can certainly give the pup a lesson in rectitude and dignity that will be necessary to be First Dog of a great nation. I can help with his command of the English language, the mother tongue of Shakespeare and of the King James Bible.
Who better than I to supervise this young dog's training? Left to the Obama family, he/she will probably be raised to fetch, shake hands and roll over.
Look here, people, (as Barack is fond of saying) dogs are so much more than crotch sniffing, stick fetching, leg humping, cat terrorizing, face licking, corner crapping attention cravers. We are the noble descendants of Lassie and Rin Tin Tin, Asta and Tige! Some needs to get this little one off to a good start!
And who better than I? And, Mr. President-elect, I have always been a supporter of yours and share your lovely dark coat and big ears. I await your call.

But, King Bob, I observe that, from the nature of your offer, you must be feeling better. I am grateful for that and remain your fond (if aloof) friend

Miss Angela Basset (hoping that the new President's press people will show my present employer a thing or two about real publicity)
Bill (sigh)
