[Dailydrool] Reverse Sneezes

I've never heard them called "reverse sneezes" but my mini-doxie Avery does
this more frequently than I would like. We call it "shnarking." !!

The first time it happened, we panicked, thinking that Avery was choking or
suffocating. When we asked the vet, she said that it's a normal occurrence
that occurs when a dog's soft palette falls down. Our vet suggested that one
way to get it to stop is to force the dog to swallow. I do this by dunking
my finger in water and sticking it in the side of her mouth and onto her
tongue. When the drops of water hit her tongue (or when my finger hits her
tongue, in times when I don't have easy access to water), she usually
swallows and the shnarks stop. Sometimes though, we just have to let her
shnark it out until she's done.
