[Dailydrool] Kirby the Saint

Since there have been some inquiries, my Saintly boy is still at Tufts and will be for another 2-3 days. He is on oxygen, his temp still hasn't gone below 104. Hid nasal discharge is down, cough increased and he's coughing up lots of nastiness. They are planning on changing antibiotics tomorrow to "one of the big guns"...( imipenem or vancomycin ?)..We are pushing them to change tonight. If he isn't responding after 48 hrs, he needs something else. They don't have enough results back to discuss adding an antifungal yet, but it is a consideration. So even if they get his temp down tomorrow, they need to make sure it stays down and he does OK off the oxygen. If they don't even change his meds until tomorrow, it will probably be Thurs or Fri before he comes home. Way too long! Seems he has a real cesspool in his lungs. I hope we get it resolved soon....
