Several years ago we had to move to the Bahamas for a year with my husbands work.  I refused to put Abigail on a commercial airline where the plane would be changed in Miami.  We went to the airport where there are private plans and found a man who actually flew several times a month to the Bahamas.  He flew Abigail and I there.  I got some medicine from the vet to make her flight a little easier on both of us.  This gentleman also brought us back a year later.  You may want to try going to the airports where there are private pilots and see if you can find someone to do this for you.  Figure the cost of you flying and the dog on a commercial flight so you will know what would be a resonable cost.  It will cost a little more, but you will have peace of mind, I can tell you this from experience.  I liked knowing that I was right there with Abigail the whole time.
