I hope the wheels help.When Sarah Jane had  back surgery we initially  
tried the sling and our backs probably felt like yours. We were able to purchase 
 a harness/ sling set up designed by the therapist we take her to. It is 
great.  It distributes the weight and lets you stand upright. It is available 
on line at  _www.topdoghealth.com_ (http://www.topdoghealth.com)  It might 
be  helpful if she doesn't always use the cart.
