[Dailydrool] Rimadyl

Ruby Doo use to be on Rimadyl and luckily had no adverse side effects from it.  Then with Tucker (ATB) we had the behavioral changes and some other side effects.  I have since educated myself and made the choice never to use it again.   In my opinion the risk is just too great....but then I am a bit over protective. 
 
One of the the bits I found is how Rimadyl (carboprofen) came to be used in veterinarian practice.  Pfizer originally was going to introduce it for human use about the time that all the problems with the Cox II NSAIDS were having all the problems.  Pfizer decided that all the FDA required studies were too expensive and the profits would be greater (due to less studies) if they limited it to use in our pets.  I find that disturbing.
 
This site has some really good information  on Rimadyl in seniors.  I should warn you that there are also some very tearful stories.
