[Dailydrool] Bloat

I may be incorrect but I was under the impression that dogs that are
bloating are UNABLE to bring anything up-- that they have the dry heaves or
retch uncontrollably, but cannot vomit productively.
I also thought that they often were unable to defecate, and that gut sounds
were likely to be lessened, not louder.
I am not arguing, I just know that the dogs that came to the clinic in full
bloat were not able to vomit, whether there was torsion or not.

I am personally familiar with the middle of night frantic grass and carpet
"vacuuming" along with the incredibly loud gut sounds. I also give
simethicone and sit up with the dogs, but none have ever bloated or if they
did I did not think they were, because I have never done a middle-of
-the-night bloat call.

I would really like to know if I am correct in my thinking that bloating
dogs do not vomit.
