My opinion on the Purdue drug trial problems -- Jennifer is totally correct,
you really need to report these problems, because if it's happening to you,
it's happening to others. You can be sure that the Vet School
Administration would want to know about it, they make millions of dollars
yearly from running these tests and trials and don't want to lose that
revenue, the Drug Manufacturer would want to know because they are paying
the big bucks and they want good, uncontaminated data, and the FDA would
want to know because they will tell Purdue to straighten up or be barred
from running any further tests or trials. Write letters, put dates and also
names if possible, and keep copies of everything. Oh yes, and find another
Vet and then tell Purdue to kiss your dog's fuzzy butt and stick their trial
where the sun don't shine.

All clinical trials whether for animals or people are covered under FDA
guidelines. Failure to follow these guidelines can land the investigator in
big trouble and even cause the sponsoring company's new drug application to
fail.

Since Rosie was involved in a research trial, you should have had to sign
some sort of consent. You should have also received a copy of that form.
There should be number on the form for you to call with questions, usually
the investigator conducting the research. I urge you to call that number.
If you don't have this form, contact the FDA directly. They have a whole
section for veterinary medicine. You need to report that the investigator
is not providing the proper oversight and that the protocol is not being
followed, ie- Rosie got the wrong chemo agent.
