[Dailydrool] question about raw meat

Never had any trouble here with any raw meat. Cats have been on raw for
about 6 or 7 years and the dogs are given raw drumsticks and raw
beef/deer ribs all the time. We give them raw hamburger meat with meds,
especially the nasty tasting ones, to be sure they eat all of it. One
of my mom's tricks to getting puppies to eat their dewormer powder years
ago was to roll it in the center of a hunk of hamburger meat, worked
every time.
Cats and raw beef don't always get along though, I've had 2 that would
eat a piece of beef or hamburger and throw it back up within a few minutes.
On the salmonella thing, use common sense. If it's been on the counter
all day toss it out, if it smells funny toss it out, if a cat looks at
it and gives you the WTF look, toss it out (I've often used the cats to
tell me if something was 'off' when my sinuses weren't functioning
enough to smell, they are usually right on and will not touch spoiled meat).
